GRANVILLE, Ohio -- In the final North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) opener in Allegheny's 38th year in the league, the Gators dropped a 31-0 road decision at Denison.
After a win in week one, Allegheny moves to an even 1-1 on the season. Denison does the same after dropping its season debut against Ohio Northern.
Denison jumped out to a 21-0 lead in the first half and then added 10 more points in the second half, a touchdown in the third quarter and a field goal in the fourth, to set the final margin.
Jack Johnson (Hingham, Mass./Hingham/Milford Academy) completed 16-of-30 passes for 135 yards, with an interception.
Declan O'Brien (Irwin, Pa./Norwin) led the Gator receiving corps with four catches for 59 yards.
Gabriel Devore (North East, Pa./Harborcreek) had a team-high nine tackles.
Hudson Alread (Victor, N.Y./Victor) added eight stops to finish second for the Gators.
Zach Altenbaugh (Industry, Pa./Western Beaver) collected both of Allegheny's tackles for losses in the game.
Allegheny will continue NCAC play on the road when it travels to Crawfordsville, Ind. to take on Wabash at 2 p.m.
