MEADVILLE, Pa. -- The Allegheny softball team dropped a pair of nonconference contests to Carnegie Mellon on Tuesday.
Paige Ziggas (Beaver, Pa./Beaver Area) led the Allegheny offense in game one with a 3-for-4 day at the plate. She also came around to score twice, drove in a run and stole a base.
Delaney Harrison-Peters (Silver Spring, Md./Walter Johnson) and
Cameron Long (Midlothian, Va./Midlothian) recorded multi-hit and multi-RBI performances each.
Kelly Lafferty (Suffolk, Va./Nansemond River)
Hadley Horensky (Jefferson Hills, Pa./Seton LaSalle Catholic) and
Hayley Behr (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Hills) all notched a hit in the matinee.
In the nightcap,
Joplin Osgood (Coudersport, Pa./Coudersport) tallied a perfect 3-for-3 day at the plate. She also came around to score a run.
Lafferty, Long Ziggas and
Kaylin Tang (Vienna, Va./South Lakes) all collected a hit in game two.
Allegheny will be back in action this weekend for back-to-back nonconference doubleheaders against Wooster. The Gators will be on the road for the first doubleheader on Saturday with first pitch scheduled for 1 p.m.
