MEADVILLE, Pa. -- Allegheny honored its three seniors in a pregame ceremony on the Blue Turf at the Robertson Athletic Complex before earning a 14-11 North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) win over Kenyon.
After being down 2-1 just under seven minutes into the game, Allegheny scored four unanswered goals to establish a 5-2 lead that was not conceded for the remainder of the game.
Senna Perelman (Cleveland, Ohio/Cleveland Heights) tallied a game-high eight points scoring four goals and handing out four assists. Perelman along with
Liz Dolan (Pittsburgh, Pa./Hampton) won a game-best six draw controls.
Grace Baginski (Lakeville, N.Y./Our Lady of Mercy) netted a hat trick of her own in the win. Dolan,
Mary Allen (Victor, N.Y./Victor) and
Evi Malagise (Beaver Falls, Pa./Blackhawk) all chipped in with two goals each. Dolan also scooped up four ground balls and passed out two assists for a total of four points on the night.
Defensively, Allegheny held a 6-5 advantage in caused turnovers, two of which were shot clock violations.
Fiona Barrett (Danvers, Mass./Danvers) recorded 12 saves in net to preserve Allegheny's win.
The two teams are scheduled to square off again on Saturday in Gambier, Ohio. Opening draw is slated for 1:00 p.m.
