SHELBYVILLE, Ind. -- The Allegheny cross country teams competed at the 2021 Great Lakes Regional Saturday (Nov. 13) held in Shelbyville, Ind. 

Megan Aaron (Cranberry Twp., Pa./Seneca Valley) had the top overall finish on either side for the Gators, taking seventh in the women's race with a time of 22:12.7.  Not only did the finish earn Aaron All-Region Honors, it automatically qualifies her for the 2021 Division III Cross Country Championships.  

As a team, the women finished sixth in the 6k race while the men finished 17th in the 8k race.

In addition to Aaron's All-Region finish, Sarah Maue (Tamaqua, Pa./Tamaqua Area) also earned the honor with a 19th place finish and a time of 22:40.4. Molly Tarvin (New Tripoli, Pa./Northwestern Lehigh) was the third runner, finishing 41st with a time of 23:11.0. Mazzie Standish (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny) and Emma Wall (Douglass, Mass./Douglass) rounded out the Gator five with times of 23:32.3 and 23:33.9 to finish 60th and 61st, respectively.  

On the men's side, Logan Meyer (Mount Vernon, Ohio/Mount Vernon) had an All-Region finish, taking 29th with a time of 25:37.6. Adam Cook (Pittsburgh, Pa./Fox Chapel) was second for the men, finishing 83rd with a time of 26:38.0 while Joe McAuliffe (Massillon, Ohio/Jackson) took 106th with a time of 26:58.6. Desmond Corrado (Crafton, Pa./Carlynton) and Tim Weighart (Brookline, Mass./Brookline) rounded out the top-five for Allegheny with times of 27:33.6 and 27:44.7 to take 140th and 153rd, respectively.
