MEADVILLE, Pa. -- Four Gators scored double-digit points in Allegheny's 80-66 victory over Hiram in a North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) matchup.
The Gators were led by 23 points, eight rebounds and three assists from
Julianna Skowron (Sewickley, Pa./Oakland Catholic), while
Zoe Youdell (Connellsville, Pa./Connellsville) contributed 20 points, eight rebounds and two assists.
Allegheny improved its winning streak to three games and its overall record to 10-14 and 6-9 in the NCAC on the season. The Terriers have lost five straight and sit at 7-18 overall and 4-12 in the NCAC.
The Terriers opened the scoring at 9:47 in the first quarter and the lead changed five times before the Gators took an 18-11 lead into the second quarter. Allegheny outshot Hiram 53.3 percent (8-of-15) to 23.8 percent (5-of-21) in the period.
The Gators outshot the Terriers in each of the four quarters and finished the game with a 50.0 percent (33-of-66) shooting performance. Hiram ended at 40.6 percent (26-of-64) from the field.
Rylee Donovan (Glenshaw, Pa./Shaler) finished the game one assist shy of her first triple-double after recording nine assists before the start of the fourth quarter. She finished the contest with 14 points and 10 rebounds and made two of the Gators' three field goals from beyond-the-arc.
Rounding out the double-figure scorers was
Alexis Caldwell (Whitefish Bay, Wis./Whitefish Bay) with 10 points, seven boards and four assists.
The victory finalizes a 7-7 record for the Gators at home on the season. The Gators will wrap up the 2019-20 regular season with an NCAC game against Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 22.
