MEADVILLE, Pa. - The Allegheny women's volleyball team hosted a tri-match with John Carroll and Pitt Greensburg on Saturday (Sept. 21).
The Gators fell in straight sets to both teams, with scores of 25-17, 26-24, and 25-18 against the Blue Streaks and 25-21, 25-22, 25-17 in their match with the Bobcats.
Tamara Babic (Belgrade, Serbia/Third Belgrade) and
Elizabeth Debich (Leechburg, Pa./Kiski Area) led the attack in game one with nine kills apiece, followed by
Grace Lengauer (Avella, Pa./Avella) with eight.
Olivia D'Andrea (Pittsburgh, Pa./Serra Catholic) and
Raelynn Dorscheid (Macedon, N.Y./Penfield) set up the offense with 13 and 12 assists, respectfully.
Rebecca MacQuarrie (Waterford, Pa./Fort LeBouef) and D'Andrea anchored the defense with 14 and 11 digs, respectfully.
In game two,
Alysha Crowther (Santa Cruz, Calif./Santa Cruz) provided the offense with seven kills. D'Andrea and
Megan Dennis (Corry, Pa./Corry Area) tallied seven assists each. MacQuarrie matched a game-high with 27 digs in the loss.
Allegheny will travel to Chatham on Thursday (Sept. 26) for nonconference action, set to begin at 7:00 p.m.
