HIRAM, Ohio -- Allegheny's seniors combined for 14 points in the final game of their careers as the Gators concluded the 2019 season with an 18-3 win over Hiram.
With the victory, the Allegheny women's lacrosse team wraps up the year at 6-11 overall and 2-6 in the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC).
The five seniors on the roster scored eight goals and posted six assists on the evening.
Alex Zielinski (Erie, Pa./McDowell) led the way with five points (two goals, three assists), while
Laurence Busque (Lititz, Pa./Manheim Township) found the back of the net four times to give her five career goals.
Sarah Basden (Malibu, Calif./Thousand Oaks) contributed four points as well, scoring once and assisting on three others.
Taylor Vigneri (Canandaigua, N.Y./Canandaigua Academy) rounded out the senior point scorers with a goal.
Sophomore
Brenna Lawler (Randolph, N.J./Randolph) scored four goals in the win and freshman
Mary Allen (Victor, N.Y./Victor) also turned in four points on three goals and an assist.
Allen corralled a season-high 13 draw controls, her second time in double figures during her rookie campaign. She and Zielinski topped the squad with four caused turnovers apiece.
Gretchen Barbera (Yarmouth, Maine/Yarmouth) led all players with seven ground balls, her second most of the year. Zielinski was one behind the pace at six GBs.
Steph Shakespeare (Pittsburgh, Pa./Peters Township) made one save on the evening while picking up her sixth win of the year.
