Box Score FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Gators scored in seven of nine innings and pounded out 17 hits to take a 14-5 nonconference decision at Fredonia State (N.Y.).
Allegheny moves back to .500 on the baseball season at 11-11 overall. The 17 hits on the afternoon mark the 10th time this season that the Gators have reached double digits in hits in a game.
Austin Bristol (Orchard Park, N.Y./Orchard Park) and
Ethan Pawlak (Chardon, Ohio/Gilmour Academy) both finished with four hits in the game. Bristol ran his hitting streak to a team-leading seven games with his eighth multi-hit contest this season. He finished with a double, two RBI, two runs and a stolen base. Pawlak recorded four singles on the day, driving in two runs and scoring twice.
Senior accounted for 14 of Allegheny's 17 hits as
Tommy Cannon (Hermitage, Pa./Hickory),
Max Sessions (Bethesda, Md./Walt Whitman) and
Vincent Carone (Erie, Pa./McDowell) each collected a pair of base knocks. Cannon walked and drove in two, while Sessions and Carone both had a double, RBI and run scored. Freshman recorded the final three hits as
Dalton DuBois (Bemus Point, N.Y./Maple Grove) doubled and
Ben Kosbie (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shady Side Academy) and
Isaiah Lucas (Butler, Pa./Butler) both singled, with Lucas driving in a pair on his.
Nate Pastorek (Sarver, Pa./Freeport) earned the win, his first of the season, in the predetermined staff day. He scattered five hits over four innings and struck out a batter and walked none.
Jarod Deagan (Copley, Ohio/Copley) struck out the side in his inning of relief and
Nolan Thompson (McMurray, Pa./Peters Township) retired the side in order during his inning of work.
Dalton Donachie (New Springfield, Ohio/Springfield Local) pitched the final 2.0 innings of hitless baseball, striking out three and walking one.
Allegheny returns to North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) play on Saturday, April 13 when it hosts Ohio Wesleyan in a noon doubleheader at the Robertson Athletic Complex.
