MEADVILLE, Pa. -- The Allegheny men's basketball team opened up the 2019 Greg Richards '08 Memorial Classic with a 76-59 nonconference win over Grove City on Friday night (Nov. 15).
Senior
Jordan Rawls (Pittsburgh, Pa./Taylor Allderdice) scored a team-high 22 points to lead the Gators, while freshman
Keeno Holmes (Pittsburgh, Pa./Lincoln Park) added 18 and sophomore
Jordan Greynolds (Barberton, Ohio/Barberton) added in 11 points -- all in the second half.
With Rawls' performance, he moved into sole possession of fifth place on the Allegheny career scoring list and now sits at 1,313. He finished the game 7-of-15 from the field, including 4-of-6 from beyond-the-arc. He also paced the home squad with nine rebounds and four assists.
Holmes made three triples en route to his 18 points and also had a team-leading four steals. Greynolds sunk two three-pointers to help fuel the second-half surge, while also adding four rebounds.
Sophomore
Caden Hinckley (Boise, Idaho/Mount Lebanon (Pa.)) finished with nine points and eight rebounds, plus three blocks.
For the game, the Blue & Gold held a 39-36 advantage on the glass.
Allegheny closes out the 2019 edition of the Richards Classic when it hosts Waynesburg at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16.
