OBERLIN, Ohio – The Allegheny women's soccer team used two second half goals to come from behind and defeat North Coast Athletic Conference foe Oberlin, 3-2, on Tuesday (Oct. 15).
The Gators now move to 4-3-4 on the year.
After allowing an eighth minute goal, the Gators found the equalizer in the 22nd minute as
Blair Proteau (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mt. Lebanon) knocked home a shot from
Emily Orr (Coraopolis, Pa./Moon Area) for her first goal of the season.
The Yeowomen took the lead once again in the 47th minute, but that would be their final goal of the game.
Shannon McGuinn (Warminster, Pa./William Tennent) notched the tying score in the 56th minute on an unassisted goal.
Less than five minutes later, Allegheny found the game winner. Orr collected a pass from McGuinn in the 61st minute and planted the final goal of the contest in the back of the net.
Orr spearheaded the offense with three shots, a goal, and an assist.
Taylor Renk (Cranberry Twp, Pa./Oakland Catholic) and McGuinn also took three shots, while McGuinn also tallied a goal and an assist.
Amy Barra (Coral Springs, Fla./Cardinal Gibbons) and Proteau each took two shots, to add to Proteau's goal.
Maya Hackman (Derry, Pa./Derry Area) earned the win in goal with four saves.
The Gators head back to the pitch on Saturday (Oct. 19) as they travel to Ohio Wesleyan for a 2:00 p.m. NCAC showdown.
