Wittenberg pushes past Allegheny, 52-14

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio -- A balanced scoring effort from Wittenberg saw the Allegheny football team drop a 52-14 decision against the Tigers at Edwards-Maurer Field.

Trey Adams (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) rushed for a career-high 70 yards and Alex Victor (Miami, Fla./G. Holmes Braddock) caught eight passes for 90 yards. Nazareth Greer (Apache Junction, Ariz./Marcos De Niza) completed 15-of-24 passes for 120 yards and a touchdown, which was a 17-yard scoring strike to Ben Bachik (Cranberry Township, Pa./Seneca Valley) that made the game 17-7 with 1:45 left in the first half.

Allegheny's second score of the day was on a five-yard carry by Austin French (Beaver Falls, Pa./Beaver Falls) with under six minutes to play in the third quarter. Nick Leinenweber (Neptune Beach, Fla./Episcopal School) converted both point-after tries on the day.

Kyle McGee (Manilus, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manilus) had a game-high 11 tackles, including a tackle for loss. It marked the senior's seventh double-digit tackle game of his career and the fourth of the season for the Campbell Trophy semifinalist. Four other Gators joined McGee with 1.0 TFL, while Phil Johnson (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mount Lebanon) was second on the team with eight tackles on the day.

Allegheny returns home to Frank B. Fuhrer Field when it hosts Kenyon at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19 in a North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) clash.
