Allegheny to Host Inaugural Field Hockey Skills Camp

MEADVILLE, Pa. - Allegheny College field hockey coach Valerie Lohr has announced that the school will host a Field Hockey Skills Camp from July 16-19.

The overnight camp is open to all field hockey players aged 13-18, and will be held at Frank B. Fuhrer Field at Allegheny's Robertson Athletic Complex.  Campers will stay in air conditioned dormitories on the Allegheny campus, and meals will be provided at the College's main cafeteria, Brooks Dining Hall.

Registration cost is $425 for an individual, and $400 for a team of 11 or more players.

Coach Lohr will serve as the camp supervisor, while other camp staffers include Raenee Savin, head coach and four-time NCAA Division II national finalist at LIU-Post, and Elizabeth Gorse, a longtime field hockey coach and athletic coordinator at Pittsburgh's Shady Side Academy.

The camp will begin with check-in at 9 a.m. on July 16 at Frank B. Fuhrer Field, while campers will be adjourned at approximately 12:30 p.m. on July 19.  Three meals will be provided to campers each day, while a team store and concession stand will be available throughout the day.  Campers will take part in a full array of instruction and skill development, while games will be played each evening.
