GROVE CITY, Pa. --
Billy Urso made five three-pointers and
Jordan Rawls turned in his ninth career double-double, but the Gators concluded nonconference play for 2018-19 with a 72-65 defeat at Grove City.
With the loss, the Allegheny men's basketball team wraps up non-league games with a 4-2 record while dropping to 4-5 overall this year.
Urso's five threes were his second most of the season, having knocked down seven earlier in the campaign at Geneva when the Gators hit a program-record 20 that evening. The senior finished with 15 points against Grove City, his fifth game in double digits and the fourth in Allegheny's last five outings.
For Rawls, the double-double was his first this season. The junior led the Gators with 17 points and equaled the third-most rebounds of his career with a season-best 12. Rookie
Zach Ecker reached double digits for the third time this season, chipping in 10 points and five rebounds.
Brian Roberts, Jr. added nine points plus game highs of five steals and four assists.
Allegheny will play a pair of North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) games before the holiday break, traveling to Crawfordsville and Greencastle, Indiana, for games at Wabash (7 p.m.) and DePauw (2 p.m.) on Thursday, Dec. 20 and Friday, Dec. 21, respectively.
