This Saturday, Allegheny welcomes Wooster to Frank B. Fuhrer Field for a 5 p.m. Community Night bout, and the North Coast Athletic Conference opener for both squads. Admission will be free, while the Gators will welcome the Meadville Area Senior High football team as special guests after a historic 2016 season.
Both the Gators and Fighting Scots will be looking to get off to a 2-0 start, after each posting convincing wins in week one. Allegheny fired on all cylinders, and rode a dominant second quarter to a 38-6 week one win at Thiel. Wooster broke open a tight game by scoring four straight second half touchdowns to top Bluffton 45-21. This week marks the 39th all-time meeting between Wooster and Allegheny, with the Gators holding a slim 20-18 margin. Wooster has topped Allegheny in each of the past four seasons, including a wild 49-40 victory in week two of last season that saw the squads combine for over 1,000 yards of offense.
