#15 Tartans Shut Out Gators

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Host Carnegie Mellon, ranked 15th in the most recent United Soccer Coaches national poll, got off to a hot start and never looked back, handing the Gators their second straight defeat.

The Tartans (4-1-1) scored twice in the first six minutes of play, before opening up a 4-0 halftime lead en-route to a 9-0 final score.

Carnegie Mellon owned a 30-1 advantage in shots, with Gator freshman keeper Maya Hackman turning in a career-high 12 saves in 60 minutes of play. Classmate Alexis Brandon made two stops in the final 30 minutes of play.

Seven different players found the score sheet for the Tartans, with Kally Bruch and Ryan Casey each scoring two goals to lead the charge.

The Gators (2-5) will look to snap their two-game losing skid this Saturday, when they open North Coast Athletic Conference play with a 12 p.m. tilt against Denison at the Robertson Athletic Complex.
