MEADVILLE, Pa.—The Allegheny College men's soccer team was unable to overcome an early goal from 20
th-ranked Kenyon College as they fell in their season finale 3-0 Saturday (Oct. 28) in Meadville.
Before the game, the Gators honored their six seniors:
Bryce Evans,
Tolossa Hassan,
Izaak Miller,
David Stekla,
Corey Twichel and
Tristen Thakar.
The Lords got on the board early when Henry Myers found Woo Jeon at the top of the box on a cross, beating the keeper to the lower right corner.
The Gators offense attacked the Kenyon defenses throughout the first half, outshooting the Lords 6-4.
In the 37
th minute, Miller nearly found the equalizer but his shot narrowly missed above the crossbar.
Kenyon had a chance to take a 2-0 lead late in the half but
Nick Ferreira made the save to keep the score at 2-0 going into the half.
The Lords extended their lead early in the second half as Koval found Myers once again in the box.
In the 65
th minute, the Gators earned back-to-back corner kicks but were unable to convert them to shots.
In the closing minutes of the game, Jack Cohen scored from 25-yards out to make the final score 3-0.
Miller and
Liam McKersie had two shots apiece for the Gators.
In net, Ferreira finished with six saves.
