GREENCASTLE, Ind.—The Allegheny College men's soccer team fell to North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) foe Depauw University 4-0 Saturday (Oct. 29) on the road.
The game marked the season finale for the Gators (5-11-2, 3-6 NCAC).
The Tigers struck first in the sixth minute when Taras Tataryn found Julian Gonzalez for the early goal.
The Gators had a pair of chances in the 17
th minute but
Izaak Miller and
Jack Walsh both had their shots saved. The Tigers were quick to turn it around when they increased their lead to 2-0 on Gonzalez's second goal. A minute later, Gonzalez found the back of the net once again for the hat trick, giving the Tigers a 3-0 lead.
The Tiger lead grew to four in the 20
th minute when Gonzalez found Jonathan Wheeler for the goal. The Gators were held off the scoreboard as they trailed by four heading into the second half.
The Gators defense held tough in the second half, not allowing a goal. Offensively, they earned chances but were unable to get on the board as they fell on the road.
Offensively,
Tolossa Hassan led the Gators with four shots. Miller also had a pair of shots.
The Tigers owned advantages in both shots (14-8) and corner kicks (6-4).
David Stekla made a pair of saves in relief during the second half.
