MEADVILLE, Pa. - Allegheny will welcome local rival Thiel College this Saturday night to kick off the 2014 campaign. The Gators ask that all fans wear white to "White Out" Frank B. Fuhrer Field, as they host their first night game since 2011.
Separated by just 24 miles, Allegheny and Thiel have met 72 previous times on the gridiron, but this week's matchup is the first between the two non-conference foes since the 1997 campaign. The Gators own a 39-28-5 all-time advantage in the series, and have won six straight, most recently topping the Tomcats 46-19 in the '97 season opener.
