Gators Begin Busy Weekend with Road Setback

GREENCASTLE, Ind. – The Gators kicked off a three-game road trip to Indiana with a 3-0 setback against DePauw University on Friday at Neal Fieldhouse.

Junior Bailey Gawley led the attack for the Blue and Gold, racking up six kills for the Gators.  Freshman Justine Kelly picked up 17 assists, while fellow first year Terra Schall earned a team-high 17 digs for the squad.  Senior Catherine Kasianowicz picked up 13 digs, as Gawley, junior Sarah Swartz and freshman Leah Franzluebbers earned two blocks each.

Swartz tacked on four kills for the Gators as sophomore Emily Adams and Gator first years Morgan Bush alongside Hannah Cubarney picked up two kills each.  Kelly added the Gators' lone service ace as freshman Kylee Karczewski picked up seven digs.  DePauw won a pair of 25-13 contests to go up 2-0 in the match, closing out the sweep with a 25-14, third set win.

The Gators will return to the court on Saturday, Oct. 25 in Springfield, Ohio, as they will battle the hosting Tigers at 1 p.m. before a 3 p.m. match against Marietta.
