Allegheny women's indoor track and field athlete Emily Norton placed fourth in the North Coast Athletic Conference Pentathlon while Caileigh Hughes placed ninth at Oberlin on Saturday.
Norton scored 2,595 points, claiming her top finishes in the field events: the high jump, the shot put and the long jump. She claimed sole possession of third place in the high jump, clearing a height of 1.48 meters (4 feet, 10 1/4 inches). She also tied for third in the shot put with a distance of 8.23 meters (27-0) and claimed a third-place-tie in the long jump by stretching 4.53 meters (14-10 1/2).
On the track, Norton placed sixth in both the 55-meter hurdles (9.61 seconds) and the 800 (2:48.08).
