At the 2018 North Coast Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships, Allegheny senior Olivia Mamula was named the conference's Distance Runner of the Year after earning a pair of event wins. On the opening day of the championships, Mamula won the 3,000 meter steeplechase in a time of 10:48.16 to set both an Allegheny and NCAC record. Twenty four hours later, Mamula completed her 2-for-2 weekend by winning the conference's title in the 1,500 run in a time of 4:35.87, a new personal record and the third-fastest time in the event in team history. She is the first Gator female to be named the NCAC's Outdoor Distance Runner of the Year since Allegheny Hall of Famer Leah Shouey in 2005.Â
