Junior Emily Forner ran a historic race for the Gators at The Big Meet, hosted by Grand Valley State, on Friday evening. In the 3,000 meter run, Forner placed eighth in a field of 43 runners - and first among non-Division I competitors - with a time of 9:48.06. Her time broke a 30-year old school record, previously held by Allegheny Hall of Famer Christine Dudeck, while it now ranks as the sixth best 3,000 meter time by an NCAA Division III runner this season. It eclipsed Forner's previous personal record by 31 seconds, while it is also the fastest 3,000 meter time by a North Coast Athletic Conference runner in five seasons.
