Allegheny freshman Jarod Deagan had a pair of stellar starts on the mound last week. On Monday against NCAC foe Kenyon, Deagan earned his first career complete game victory, as he allowed one run on seven hits with seven strikeouts in the Gators' 9-1 win. Six days later against #7 Wooster, Deagan started and worked eight innings, allowing just four hits with five strikeouts, and the appearance was highlighted by a stretch between the third and eighth innings in which he retired 13 straight batters. In a total of 17 innings on the week, Deagan allowed just one run and 11 hits in 17 innings with 12 strikeouts, and posted an 0.53 ERA and .183 opponent batting average.
