Caitlin earns here second Gator Athlete of the Week honor of the season after leading the Gator pitching and offensive attack on the penultimate week of the regular season. Â At the plate, the senior batted a robust .588 (10-for-17) with five doubles, six RBIs, and four runs scored. Â She had two or more hits in five of Allegheny's six games on the week, highlighted by a three-double performance in Wednesday's tie against Oberlin, when she drove in the tying run in the seventh inning to send the game into extra innings. Â She posted an .882 slugging percentage and .632 on-base percentage on the week, and was a perfect 1-for-1 in stolen bases.
In the circle, she earned all three Gator wins, posting a 1.40 ERA and 31 strikeouts in 25 innings pitched. Â After starting and allowing just one unearned run in a 9-0 win over Oberlin, Nealer equaled a season-high with 10 strikeouts in Saturday's opener against Kenyon. Â She also came on in relief in game two, and allowed no runs and just three hits, while striking out five, to earn her second win of the afternoon.
