Led by All-Americans Jeramie Parker and Chris Marker, the Allegheny men's cross country team placed third at the NCAA Division III Championships, hosted by Baldwin-Wallace at Highland Park Golf Course.
Parker, who was eighth, finished the 8,000-meter course in 25:44.1 while Marker crossed the line 11th at 25:50.2 for the Gators, who scored 195 points and finished behind only national champion North Central (50) and Williams (181).
The team accomplishment matches the Gators' previous best finish in 2006 when the Blue and Gold were third at the National Championship meet.
Jake Zimmerman was Allegheny's third runner to finish, clocking in at 26:28.0 to place 44th. Other scorers were Tony Dipre, who took 49th in 26:31.4, and Zac Ross, who was 83rd in 26:47.4.
Ryan Sullivan and Matt Lacombe also competed for the Gators. Sullivan finished 173rd in 27:47.1 while Lacombe grabbed 212th in 28:51.9.
