At the SPIRE Midwest Open, Preston ran a career-best time of 2:20.86 in the 800 to take 10th out of 40 runners from all three NCAA classifications, and second among Division III runners. The defending NCAC indoor champion in the 800, Preston's time at the SPIRE is the second-fastest recorded by an NCAC runner this season.
