Brad Burkley became the fifth player in program history to be named Capital One/CoSIDA Academic All-American.  The senior carries a 3.94 cumulative GPA, majoring in mathematics and minoring in economics. On the field, Burkley, a co-captain, bounced back from a preseason injury to become a mainstay on the Gator defense. An honorable mention All-North Coast Athletic Conference selection, he finished the season with 43 tackles, including a team-high 8.0 tackles for loss. He posted at least five tackles in six different games, highlighted by a nine-tackle/2.0 TFL/0.5 sack performance against Wooster in week six. He tallied his first career interception in week two at Carnegie Mellon, while also finishing with two pass break-ups.
