Josh was named MVP of the Greg Richards '08 Memorial Tournament, averaging 20.5 points and 7.0 rebounds in two Gator victories. In Friday's season-opening win over Alma, Valentic posted career-highs with 28 points and nine rebounds, before scoring a team-high 13 points, with five boards, in Saturday's victory over Adrian. For his efforts, he was named the North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week, the first Gator men's basketball player to earn the honor since Ryan Stanko on Dec. 16, 2012.
