Sid Facaros was named the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Defensive Player of the Week for the game of Oct. 10 against Carnegie Mellon.

Facaros,a junior strong safety, forced a fumble and recovered it late in the fourth quarter to set up the Gators (4-1) game-winning touchdown. He also led Allegheny with a career and game-high 13 tackles, including 10 solo. Facaros also had a sack for a loss of 13 yards.

On the season, he has 30 tackles and is tied for first on the team with three interceptions.
