Kate Thoman Crowley is one of just three athletes in Allegheny history to win multiple NCAA Division-III championships, as she took the gold in the 400 yard individual medley as a sophomore in 1988 and again as a senior in 1991, when she was named the NCAA Division-III Swimmer of the Year.
She was a nine-time All-American during her four-year career, earning up the honor in the 500 yard freestyle (1988, 1991), the 400 yard IM (1989, '91), the 1650 yard freestyle (1988, '91), and as part of the 200 medley relay (1990, '91). Over 22 years after graduating, she still holds school records in the 200, 400, 800, 1000, and 1650 yard freestyle, as well as the 400 yard IM.Â
A 1991 Allegheny graduate, she was a first-ballot selection to the Allegheny Hall of Fame in 2001.
