Allegheny College Athletics

Matt Clarke led Allegheny to its first ever team national championship, the 1983 NCAA Division III golf title, capturing the individual national championship with rounds of 71-78-76-72/297.  He earned first team All-American honors in that season and honorable mention All-American in 1982 after a 22nd place finish at the national championship.  A four-year letterwinner and co-captain his senior year, Clarke also helped the Gators to President's Athletic Conference championships each of his four years on the team.  After graduating in 1983, Clarke was a first-ballot selection to the Allegheny Hall of Fame in 1993.
