Fred Evanoff

Fred Evanoff is in his ninth season as a member of the Allegheny College Swimming and Diving staff. He serves as the diving coach for both the men’s and women’s diving teams.

Evanoff earned his second North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Diving Coach of the Year award during the 2013-14 season, leading a determined Allegheny diving squad to an impressive showing at the 2014 NCAC Championships.  The Gators saw four top-five finishes in the one- and three-meter boards, including a pair of All-NCAC performances by Emily Capone '14, who finished second both boards.

During the 2012-13 season, Evanoff mentored Capone to her third and fourth All-North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) honors at the NCAC Championships. Under his tutelage, the Allegheny women's diving team gave the Gators a day one lead at the championships after the three-meter event.

Voted the 2011 North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Diving Coach of the Year, Evanoff began his coaching experience on the high school level.  Since 2000 he served as the head diving coach at General McLane High School, Edinboro, Pa., and later moved on to the head swimming and diving coach position at General McLane. He also runs a diving clinic at Fairview High School through the Fairview Recreation Authority.

Evanoff has seen his high school swimmers and divers compete on both the district and state levels, producing a women’s state diving champion in Pennsylvania in 2006. On the collegiate level Coach Evanoff has had conference winner Jayson Loeffert qualify to the Division III National Diving Meet.

A resident of McKean, Pennsylvania, Evanoff is the owner of Evanoff Landscape Contracting and graduated from Penn State University in 1973 with an associate degree in ornamental nursery management. He can be reached at (814) 476-1103.
