If you look at the Allegheny College softball record books, you might notice that one name appears in mostly every single season and career category. The reason for that happening is no mistake, rather, it is because Tara Dickert turned in one of the most successful careers in Gator softball history during one of the most prosperous times in the program’s existence.

From 1992-1995, the Gators posted 122 wins with two trips to the NCAA Division III College World Series, and a key catalyst of those squads was third-baseman Tara Dickert. Allegheny placed sixth in the nation in 1993 before bettering their finish with a fourth place showing in 1995. Sandwiched in the middle of those two years was an NCAA Regional appearance and a season where Dickert set Gator single-season records with 25 doubles and 110 total bases. In 1995, she went on to set three more Allegheny records with 49 games played, 168 at-bats, and 72 base-hits. During the ‘94 campaign, she finished second all-time with 67 hits, a .489 batting average, and a .803 slugging percentage, while ranking second with 109 total bases in ‘95. Over those two years, Dickert finished in the Gator top 10 in an additional 15 categories, while hitting 10 homers and driving in 83 runs. For her career, she also holds the all-time Gator records for at-bats, hits, doubles, and total bases while ranking second in batting average. Her name also appears in the career top 10 for seven other Allegheny records. Dickert’s name even graces the NCAA Division III record book, with her 25 doubles in ‘94 tying for fourth all-time in a single year.
