Allegheny College Athletics

Susan Tibbens was among the first All-American swimmers at Allegheny.  She earned All-American honors in three events as a senior – the 200 yard breaststroke, 200 medley relay, and 400 medley relay.  She set school records in the 50, 100, and 200 breaststroke as well as part of two relays.  She was named Allegheny’s Female Senior Athlete of the Year for 1979-80, and also was a four-year Alden Scholar.  A native of Pittsburgh, she now is a senior systems analyst for PPG Industries.
