Steven Lanier was a leading player for the Allegheny Baseball Team.  He was the 1972-73 Allegheny Athlete of the Year.  As a third baseman he was drafted by the Kansas City Royals following his graduation.  Lanier was a four-time All-Presidents’ Athletic honoree including three first team selections.  Steven led the Gators to PAC titles in 1970, 1971, and 1972.  He was named Allegheny’s Most Valuable Player in 1972 after batting .441 for the year, ranking him 13th in the NCAA’s College Division. Steven led the Gators in RBI and batted .373 as a senior.  He was a four-year letter-winner and a 1973 team captain.
