Four-year letter winner Steve Cook was one of the most well-rounded ballplayers to play for Allegheny as he ranks among the top 10 categories in career doubles, walks, stolen bases, runs, hits, total bases, batting average and home runs. In 1993, he had his most celebrated year, earning All-American Second Team, All-Region First Team and All-NCAC First Team honors.

Over the course of his career, Cook earned accolades at three different positions. In 1990, he was an All-NCAC honorable mention as a shortstop. He claimed another honorable mention in 1991 as a second baseman and then was selected to the All-Region First Team and All-NCAC First Team while playing second in 1992.

During the 1993 season, Cook finished with a .451 batting average—third highest in school history — and compiled 15 doubles (tied-fifth all-time), 32 stolen bases (sixth), 57 runs (eighth) and 54 hits (tenth). The Gators won the NCAC Championship that season, finishing with a 37-5 record. In Cook’s four years, the Gators had a 107-53-1 record.
