Norm Sundstrom guided the Gators men's golf team to eight consecutive PAC titles through 1983, and the national championship capped a run of six straight seasons in which his Gators never finished lower than fourth in Division III. Sundstrom was the founder of the Golden Gator Club and the Athletic Hall of Fame. He also served as the men's basketball coach from 1970-79 and then was appointed Director of Athletics from 1979-92.
