Nick Catanzarite ‘03 put together a prolific four-year career on the hardwood for the Gators between 1999 and 2003.  His name remains prominent throughout the team’s record book, and he remains one of the top scorers ever to don the Blue and Gold.

In 99 career games, Nick amassed 1,483 career points, good for an average of 15.0 points per game, both second all-time in team history.  After averaging 7.3 points and totaling 50 steals as a freshman, he burst onto the scene during his sophomore campaign of 2000-01, as he led the team in scoring (16.1 pts/g), assists (49), and steals (64), while going 116-for-137 from the foul line, an 85 percent clip.  As a junior in 2001-02, he earned All-NCAC honors after averaging 16.6 points and 4.6 rebounds, while shooting 80 percent from the foul line and leading the team with 54 assists.

He then wrapped up his career by turning in one of the finest single seasons in program history in 2002-03, earning First Team All-NCAC accolades after averaging 20.0 points.  He also totaled 91 steals, the second-most in a single-season in team history, while adding 97 assists, 54 three-point field goals, and shooting 85 percent from the line.  Thirteen years after graduating, he remains the Gators’ all-time career leader with 240 steals, while his 389-for-470 mark from the foul line is second best in the Allegheny record books.

A psychology major and communication arts minor, Nick went on to earn a law degree from Capital University, and currently works as a partner for Walter Haverfield LLP in Cleveland, where he specializes in real estate law.  In 2016, he was named to Crains Cleveland 40 Under 40, and was named a 2016 Goodwill Ambassador of the Year.

He resides in Strongsville, Ohio with his wife Lauren, and children Alexa (9), Mia (7), Rocco (6), and Allie (3).
