Michael C. Ganey was a four year letter winner in football.  He was named an All-America Honorable Mention by Associated Press in 1969.  He was named Allegheny’s Most Valuable player in 1966 and 1969.  He was a co-captain his senior year.  PAC named him Passing Leader for three years.  Other recognitions Ganey earned include All-PAC First Team Quarterback in 1967, 1968, and 1969 and the Pittsburgh Press All-District First Team Quarterback in 1968 and 1969.  In 1969 he was ranked 19th in NCAA College Division in individual total offense. 

 

Ganey was Allegheny’s scoring leader for three years and eighth on Allegheny All-Time Football Career scoring list.  Ganey owns the school record in longest touchdown pass and the most touchdown passes in a game, season, and career. The 1968 team set the record for most total yards offense which stands second and the record for total offensive plays.
