Allegheny College Athletics

During the most successful era in Allegheny College baseball history, Kevin Davidson was a mainstay in the lineup, and became one of the top hitters in NCAA Division-III.

Over a decade after graduating, the first baseman still ranks among the program leaders in nearly every major offensive category.  His 40 career doubles and 155 career RBIs currently rank second all-time in team history, while his 29 career home runs are third best by a Gator, and .399 career batting average fourth.

As a sophomore in 1999, Davidson earned his first of three consecutive All-North Coast Athletic Conference accolades, after batting .430 with 49 hits, 13 doubles (third in the NCAC), and 12 home runs (5th).  A season later, he added All-Region and All-America laurels after enjoying one of the most prolific offensive campaigns in team history.  The junior batted .445 with 72 hits, seven home runs, and a conference-leading 70 RBIs.  He wrapped up his career by batting .352 as a senior, with nine homers, 13 doubles, and 42 RBIs.

In addition to his immense individual success, Davidson helped the Gators achieve national prominence, as the team won 140 of 180 games during his four-year career, winning a pair of NCAC Championships.  In 2000, Allegheny enjoyed its finest season of all-time.  After finishing as runners-up at the NCAC tournament, the Gators received an at-large berth into the NCAA Mideast Regionals, where they won four of five games to qualify for the NCAA Division-III World Series.  In their first World Series contest, Davidson hit a game-winning two-run homer to lead the Gators past Chapman, 4-2.  The Gators would eventually advance to the semifinals, and earn fourth place nationally.

Davidson graduated with a degree in managerial economics, and a minor in communication arts.  He currently serves as the senior management of business development for the Kenan Advantage Group, and resides in Massillon, Ohio with wife Elizabeth and children Cole (5) and Mackenzie (2).
