One look at the Gator record book shows that Kate Thoman Crowley was one of the top swimmers in Allegheny history.  She still holds five individual records and is part of two record relays ten years after graduating.  She earned All-America honors in 1988, ’89 and ’91 and was a two-time national champion in the 400-yard individual medley.  She helped lead the Gators to three fourth place finishes and one 11th at the NCAA Championship during her four-year career.  In 1991 she won her second national championship in the 400 IM with a winning time of 4:34.57.  She is the current Allegheny record holder in the 200, 500, 1,000 and 1,650-yard freestyles, the 400 IM, the 800-free relay and the 200-yard medley relay.
