John Wiler was a two-time All-American as a member of the Allegheny men’s golf team. He competed at the NCAA Championships in four consecutive years, earning his best finish in 1991-92 (fifth place) before taking 10th in 1992-93 and 11th in both 1993-94 and 1994-95.

Wiler began his career with high expectations as he was named District II Freshman of the Year in 1991-92. He followed that up in 1992-93 by earning All-District II and All-NCAC First Team honors.

In 1993-94, Wiler was an All-American, an All-American Scholar, an All-District II performer and an All-NCAC Second Team performer. As a senior, he was named to the All-American First Team. Wiler also earned accolades as an All-American Scholar, an All-District II performer, an All-NCAC First Teamer and was one of five Division III True Temper Scholar Award Winners.

Wiler is tied for second in program history with a low-round score 66, finishing six-under-par at the Country Club of Meadville. During three seasons, he had the lowest stroke average on the team.

Also during the course of his career, Wiler had 19 top-five tournament finishes and 32 top-ten tournament finishes. He was a three-time MVP and maintained a career average of 77 over 101 competitive rounds.

John is a PGA player manager and recruiter at Icon Sports Management in Akron, Ohio. Prior to that, he was the head men’s golf coach at Miama University (OH) for seven years and the assistant men’s and women’s golf coach at Kent State University for four years.
