The 1962 Gator baseball team capped the PAC title for the third straight year and set a new consecutive win mark. The Gator squad won 18 consecutive games setting a school record. Duncan Parkinson set another record when he hit safely in 19 straight games.
The team's only two losses of the season came at the hands of Wayne and Pitt. Previously, Jim Marquis had stopped Pitt at Forbes Field. All-star outfielder Harry Blackwood led the team in hitting with a .426 average. Jim Marquis led in pitching with a 6-0 record including a no hitter.
Five players made the all PAC first team. They were: Harry Blackwood, Dick Blackwood, Duncan Parkinson, Jim Marquis, and Stoner Tracy. There was also a total of seven returning lettermen for the following year.
