MEADVILLE, Pa. – Allegheny College has announced the hiring of Jack Rosenstein as the Gators' assistant track and field and cross country coach.

"We're extremely excited about the addition of Jack to our program," said Gator head track and field coach Justin Linzy.  "He has great energy and enthusiasm coupled with a good knowledge of the throwing events.  I have no doubt that he will be an excellent addition to our department and community at Allegheny College."

Prior to his time at Keystone, Rosenstein earned an M.S. in exercise science from East Stroudsburg with a concentration in sport performance, strength, and conditioning.  Serving as a graduate assistant, he developed strength and conditioning programs, including resistance training, conditioning, and agility work, with the basketball teams at East Stroudsburg University and East Stroudsburg North High School.

In 2014, Rosenstein completed a strength and conditioning internship with the Bucknell University football team.  Working under the supervision of Bucknell's strength and conditioning coordinators, Rosenstein trained and supervised football athletes with warm-ups, resistance training, speed training, conditioning, and rehabilitation, while he was also a weight room monitor.

Rosenstein graduated from Bloomsburg in 2014 with a B.S. in exercise science, and enjoyed a prolific throwing career.  The school record holder in both the hammer and weight throw, he earned All-Pennsylvania State Athletic  Conference honors in the indoor shot put in 2013, and the hammer throw in both 2013 and '14, also being named All-Region in the hammer in the latter two seasons.

After graduating with honors from Bloomsburg, he then moved on to East Stroudsburg and used his final year of eligibility as a graduate student in 2015, again earning All-PSAC and All-Region honors in the hammer.

In addition to his strength and conditioning experience at Keystone, Bucknell, and East Stroudsburg, Rosenstein worked for three years (2012-14) as a coach at the Ultimate Advantage Training Center in Bloomingburg, New York, training middle school, high school, and collegiate athletes in all aspects of strength and conditioning.

At Allegheny, Rosenstein will work primarily with the Gators' throwing contingent, while also assisting with the defending North Coast Athletic Conference champion cross country teams.
