MEADVILLE, Pa. – Allegheny College Director of Athletics and Recreation
Portia Hoeg has announced the promotion of
Mandy Prusia to the position of Associate Director of Athletics and Recreation for Compliance and Operations. Prusia is in her 28th year of employment at Allegheny, and 17th in athletics, as she previously held the title of Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance and Internal Operations.
“Mandy has been a dedicated member of the athletic department for 17 years,” said Hoeg. “Her body of work overseeing compliance, eligibility, budgets, event management, and other operational areas are vital to the success of Gator athletics.”
Prusia will continue to serve as Allegheny's NCAA compliance coordinator, monitoring, documenting, and evaluating all NCAA compliance policies and procedures through rules educations for coaches, athletes, and other campus constituents. She is responsible for roster management, and working with the registrar, dean of students, and academic standards committee to certify eligibility and monitor student-athlete academic progress.
Prusia is also responsible for overseeing and forecasting the athletic department's annual operating budget and monitoring the program's revenue and expenditures. She serves as co-chair of the annual Golden Gator Golf Outing, the largest fundraising initiative for the department, while she also provides and oversees game day and event management for various Allegheny home events, as well as the sale of licensed Allegheny apparel on game days through the Gator Shack. In addition, she has worked closely with the Human Resources department for departmental hiring, and oversees staff training and orientation.
Extremely active on the Allegheny campus, Prusia has served on the Hall of Fame, Community Day, Women's Alumnae Gathering, Girls and Women in Sports Day, and Senior Student-Athlete Celebration committees, while she has managed and coordinated the Hall of Fame Banquet, All-American Day Celebration, and concession operations.
“Mandy is a valued member of our senior management team, and this promotion is well deserved,” said Hoeg. “I look forward to her elevated role on our team, as we strive to expand the tradition of excellence both on and off the field of play.”
Prior to working in athletics, Prusia spent seven years in the Allegheny Business Office as the purchasing manager and insurance coordinator, implementing the College's first on-line purchasing system. She also spent three years in the Financial Aid Office as the student loan coordinator, and has served on the College Middle States Program Review Subcommittee.
