Steven Ramsdell capped his week of regional and conference accolades with the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Pitcher of the Week honor, announced Thursday.
Ramsdell, the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Pitcher of the Week and member of the most recent D3Baseball.com Team of the Week, pitched a six-inning no-hitter in an 11-0 win over Hamilton on Mar. 22. Against the Continentals, Ramsdell retired nine of the first 11 batters, striking out six en route to his second win of the season and the no-hitter.
The sophomore opened spring training with a dominant, 1-0, complete-game shutout win over Plattsburgh State on Mar. 18. At one point, Ramsdell retired 10 consecutive batters, allowing four hits while striking out two.
Ramsdell held opposing batters to a .093 batting average during the week, only allowing four runners into scoring position over two games.
The Gators will travel to Thiel to take on the Tomcats at 4 p.m. on Friday, Mar. 29 before welcoming Keuka College to Butler, Pa. for a 3 p.m. double header on Saturday, Mar. 30.
