MEADVILLE, Pa. – Allegheny women's tennis dropped several hard-fought matches, ultimately dropping a 6-3 decision to Mercyhurst on Tuesday at Robertson Athletic Complex.
In doubles, the No. 3 team consisting of junior

Tiffany Kollah rallied to an 8-4 win, the lone victory for the Gators in doubles. The top-flight team of junior
Carolyn Shetter and freshman
Mikaela Pope fell 8-1, as freshmen
Sloane Prince and
Sun Mo Koo ended up on the wrong side of an 8-5 decision at second-flight doubles.
Pope led the Gators in singles, winning her No. 3 singles match in three sets, 4-6, 6-2, 6-3. Prince also won her singles match, taking No. 5 singles, 6-2, 6-7 (5-7), 6-2. Kollah, Shetter and Koo fell in straight sets in singles, as Steele fell in three sets after winning the first, 6-4, in her No. 6 singles match.
The Gators hope to rebound against John Carroll on Wednesday at 5 p.m. at Robertson Athletic Complex.
